On 25 October 2026, the 33rd China Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair opened in the city of Yangling, People's Republic of China.
The events are being held at the SCO Demonstration Zone for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training under the slogan " A New Future of Agriculture with New Quality Productive Forces."
More than 170 guests from over 40 countries are taking part in the fair.
Welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony were delivered by Wang Guangqian, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shaanxi Province of the People's Republic of China; and Pan Wenbo, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
In his remarks, SCO Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun highlighted Yangling's special significance for the SCO, noting that the Bishkek Declaration on the 25th Anniversary of the Organization (adopted by the leaders of the member states on 1 September 2026) recorded the collective commitment to deepening cooperation in the field of food security and continuing the exchange of agricultural technologies.
As part of the fair, 2026 SCO Modern Agriculture Development roundtable was held under the moderation of T.R. Midhun, dedicated to leveraging the potential of the SCO Agricultural Base to advance practical cooperation on water-efficient agriculture across arid regions of the SCO region.
The discussions were attended by representatives of the relevant agencies of the SCO member states and international organizations, including FAO and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
