On 17 September 2026, the 25th Meeting of Ministers of the SCO Member States Responsible for Foreign Economic and Foreign Trade Activities was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda.

The heads of delegations held a thorough exchange of views on the state of the economies of the SCO member states and on joint measures to ensure sustainable economic growth, macroeconomic stability and greater resilience to external challenges. They discussed the development of mutual trade, the reduction of trade barriers, the improvement of trade procedures, the strengthening of transport and logistics connectivity, and the resilience of production and trade chains.
In his remarks, SCO Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun emphasized that the member states continue to expand their trade and economic interaction, which is built on a harmonious combination of each participant's national priorities and the Organization's common objectives.
The Meeting reviewed reports on the activities of the SCO Business Council and the Consortium of Economic Analytical Centres.
Following the event, a Joint Statement of the Ministers was adopted, the Regulations on the Special Working Group of the SCO Member States on the Development of the Creative Economy were approved, and the Action Plan for 2026–2030 on the implementation of the Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation of the SCO Member States was agreed. The Plan will be submitted, in accordance with established procedures, for approval by the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO Member States.
The next Meeting will be held in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2027.
