On September 1–4, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation took part in the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia.
Representatives of the Secretariat attended the EEF plenary session. Speaking at the opening ceremony were President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Prime Minister of Mongolia Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, First Vice-President of Myanmar U Nyo Saw, and Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang.
In a speech at the session "EAEU – SCO: Economic Cooperation for Sustainable Development" (September 3), Advisor of the Secretariat Kazybek Kochkonov emphasized the opportunities for strengthening the partnership between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In this context, the "EAEU Days at the SCO Secretariat" were announced, scheduled for mid-September in Beijing. In addition, the outcomes of the SCO Summit held in Bishkek on September 1 were noted, particularly with regard to the economic agenda.

On September 4, a roundtable was held on the theme "CSTO–SCO: A Space of Security." Kazybek Kochkonov stated that over 25 years, the SCO has established itself as a key regional mechanism for multilateral cooperation, uniting states around the principles of mutual trust, good-neighbourliness and comprehensive interaction. The agenda includes issues of combating terrorism and extremism, transnational crime, illicit trafficking in drugs and arms, cyber threats and challenges associated with the use of modern technologies. The role of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure and the importance of ties with other associations, including the CIS and CSTO, were emphasized. It was noted that, despite differences in their statutory goals and objectives, the SCO and CSTO face common threats, and therefore coordination of approaches is required. Partnership, dialogue and complementarity serve as fundamental measures that meet contemporary realities and long-term interests in Eurasia.

On the margins of the EEF, the Secretariat delegation held working meetings with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Roscongress Foundation. During a conversation with Daniyar Imanaliyev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, issues of trade and economic cooperation between the two associations and further steps to strengthen it were discussed. Kazybek Kochkonov reported on preparations for the upcoming "EAEU Days at the SCO Secretariat" and expressed the hope that the Plan of Activities for 2026–2028 on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation of September 17, 2021, would be signed during this event.

In a conversation with representatives of the Roscongress Foundation, gratitude was expressed for the organisation, for the first time at the EEF, of an SCO Secretariat stand, where information about the SCO's activities and its 25-year history was presented. The parties highly appreciated the constructive dialogue and practical approach to cooperation, and discussed prospects for deepening their interaction.
