On August 23, 2026, in Beijing, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev visited the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China, where he took part in voting for the elections of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A meeting was held between the SCO Secretary-General and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China, Shakhrat Nuryshev. The parties exchanged views on the activities of the Organisation and on preparations for the upcoming Summit in the city of Bishkek.
