On August 18, 2026, in Beijing, a delegation from the SCO Secretariat, led by Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun, took part in the plenary session of the China–SCO Green Industry Cooperation Platform, organised by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China.
The participants held a substantive exchange of views on strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in the green industry sector. They paid particular attention to the development of mechanisms to support sustainable development and the integration of green product supply chains. The participants also emphasised the importance of establishing common standards and sharing best practices in this field.

Following the meeting, they expressed their interest in further deepening cooperation, as well as in attracting investment to joint pilot projects. As noted by the meeting participants, such measures could contribute to strengthening the position of SCO member states in the development and deployment of green technologies, which is in line with the sustainable development objectives of the region.
