From June 25 to July 1, 2026, the events of the second exchange program for young and middle-level officers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states were held in China. The organizers were the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China and the China University of Defense Technology.
The program participants included officers from the defense ministries of 16 states, as well as a representative of the SCO Secretariat. Within the framework of the program, they visited the cities of Changshu and Shanghai, where they learned about the activities of a number of research and cultural centers, and also took part in discussions devoted to the themes of the "Shanghai Spirit," the formation of the "SCO family," the expansion of regional cooperation in the field of defense and security, and the comprehensive development of the Organisation.
The parties emphasized the important role of the program in strengthening mutual understanding and trust, as well as in further enhancing multilateral security cooperation across the SCO space.
