In his address at the second session of the conference, themed "Strengthening Coordination and Coherence through Networked Multilateralism," Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda noted that SCO, not being a bloc and not targeting other states and international organizations, is making an increasing contribution to the formation of a multipolar world order. He introduced the efforts of member states to combat the "three forces of evil" – terrorism, separatism, and extremism – as well as the progress in improving the SCO's mechanisms for countering traditional and new security challenges.

On July 1, the Secretariat delegation also took part in a joint event on the theme "Cooperation between the UN, the SCO RATS and the CIS ATC in addressing security related challenges in Central Asia".
In his welcoming remarks, Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda noted that the UN, SCO, and CIS are united by common goals – a shared interest in strengthening peace, stability, and security, including in the Central Asian region, which constitutes the nucleus of the SCO. The participants were briefed on the comprehensive work to establish new permanent specialized SCO bodies in the field of security.
