On 24 June 2026, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev attended the "Colorful China" event held in Beijing, which showcased the cultural and tourism potential of China's regions.
The event was organized by the Department of Industry Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the Service Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Institutions of the PRC, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the People's Government of Dongcheng District. The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions accredited to China.
The Secretary-General toured the exhibition showcasing the development of China's cultural and tourism industry, visited the exhibition displays, and viewed products from cultural and tourism enterprises as well as examples of creative industries products.
