On June 10, 2026, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held in Kazan, Russia. A delegation from the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation participated in the meeting.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking at the meeting in an expanded format, noted in particular that Russia, as the current chair of the CSTO, will continue to work towards fully using its potential to advance allied cooperation across all areas in order to strengthen security and stability in the CSTO region and in Eurasia as a whole.
He emphasized that it is precisely in Eurasia were processes are unfolding which have a direct impact on the formation of a more just multipolar world order. This primarily concerns the emergence and consolidation of new global centers located in the region and their integration associations.
On the sidelines, SCO Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov held contacts with the heads of foreign affairs agencies, CSTO Secretary-General Taalatbek Masadykov, and other high-ranking representatives of the participating countries' delegations. They discussed practical interaction between the CSTO, CIS, and SCO with an emphasis on the implementation of the Roadmap for developing cooperation among the three organizations through joint measures in key areas provided for by this document.
