On June 4, 2026, in Beijing Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov.
They discussed current issues of SCO activities and priority areas for the development of multilateral cooperation within the Organisation. Paid particular attention to the preparation of upcoming high-level and top-level events, the improvement of practical cooperation mechanisms, and the implementation of agreements reached by the heads of member states.
The Secretary-General emphasized the active role of the Republic of Uzbekistan in strengthening the SCO's potential, promoting joint initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, security and sustainable development, as well as expanding humanitarian ties across the Organisation's space.
