At the invitation of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Nurlan Yermekbayev will pay an official visit to the country on May 22–24, 2026.
The visit program includes a meeting of the Secretary-General with the head of the foreign policy agency, contacts with other high-ranking representatives of diplomatic circles, and participation in an event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce&Industry.
The Secretary-General will also pay a visit the state of Bihar, where he will meet with the regional leadership and deliver an open lecture at Nalanda University.
Open lectures are being held in various countries and organizations in accordance with the Secretariat's Work Plan for celebrating the 25th anniversary of the SCO and are dedicated to this landmark date.
