On 19 May 2026, the delegation from the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) took part in an international roundtable on the topic “CSTO: together for strengthening international peace and stability”. The event was held in hybrid format at the headquarters of the Organization for Security and Co‑operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria.
The event was attended by Taalatbek Masadykov, Secretary‑General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and heads of the diplomatic missions of member states of the SCO, CSTO, CIS and OSCE accredited to Austria.
In his video address, Behrooz Mokhtari, Counsellor of the SCO Secretariat, highlighted the importance of effective work by regional organizations in maintaining peace and stability in their respective spheres of responsibility and promoting multilateralism grounded in international law and the UN Charter. He emphasized the SCO Secretariat’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the CSTO Secretariat under the Memorandum of Understanding, as well as its interest in further developing working contacts with the OSCE Secretariat.
