On May 15, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation visited Bukhara State University.
As part of the series of “open lectures” dedicated to the SCO’s 25th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization Piao Yangfan spoke to the audience about the history of the SCO’s development, its achievements over the past period, and the Secretariat’s plans to hold a series of events marking the SCO’s 25th anniversary.
During a Q&A session Secretary-General Piao Yangfan answered questions from the audience regarding youth and cultural-humanitarian cooperation projects within the SCO, as well as the Organisation’s role in reforming and improving the global governance system.
Deputy Secretary-General Piao Yangfan met with the University’s administration. The participants discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the field of education.
Bukhara State University is a large multidisciplinary higher education institution in Uzbekistan, founded in 1930. Currently, the University has 6 faculties and 26 departments, 35 academic programs and more 20,000 students.
