On May 14, 2026, the 23rd meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states was held via videoconference under the chairmanship of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The event was attended by high-level delegations from all member states of the Organisation. The SCO Secretariat was represented by Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov.
The parties exchanged views and practical experience regarding the functions and role of prosecution authorities with an emphasis on strengthening legal cooperation and mutual coordination mechanisms within the SCO. The discussion focused on developing interaction in the areas of criminal justice, legal assistance, anti-corruption cases, dispute resolution, combating drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, extradition, and the return of illegally transferred assets, while ensuring neutrality and impartiality.
Russia presented information on the upcoming meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Organisation's member states, scheduled for October of this year.
