On April 29, 2026, a meeting took place in Bishkek between SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubayev.
They held a substantive exchange of views on current issues of the international situation, the activities of the SCO, prospects for its further development, strengthening cooperation among member states, as well as on matters of improving the Organisation.
Nurlan Yermekbayev noted the active work of the Kyrgyz Republic across all areas of the Organisation's activities, which contributes to maintaining a close dialogue among the countries of the "SCO community."
The Secretary-General expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for the high level of preparation and conduct of the events, as well as for the active role of the Kyrgyz Republic in advancing SCO priorities during its chairmanship.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed readiness for further deepening cooperation within the SCO framework, including the development of political dialogue, coordination of positions on current international and regional issues, and the promotion of joint initiatives.
The Minister thanked the Secretariat for contributing a number of constructive proposals on the activities of the Organisation, many of which were supported by the Kyrgyz side. He spoke in favor of an active role for the Secretariat as the main executive body of the SCO and welcomed the submission of proposals for consideration by the SCO member states.
The parties paid special attention to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of SCO Member States and the summit of heads of state.
They confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening the role of the SCO as an important platform for ensuring regional security, sustainable development, and expanding international partnership.
