On April 24, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization visited the Diplomatic Academy of MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Moscow, where a lecture was delivered to the students and teaching staff of this institution.
Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda spoke to the audience about the history of the establishment and evolution of the SCO, the comprehensive work carried out within the Organisation to improve its activities, as well as the Secretariat’s plans to hold a series of events marking the 25th anniversary of the SCO.
An engaged exchange of views took place. Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda and Advisor to the Secretariat Iskander Baitasov answered questions of the students and faculty staff.
The students of the Diplomatic Academy were invited to take part in a competition organized by the Secretariat for the best article on the SCO, dedicated to the Organisation’s anniversary.
