On April 21, 2026, meetings of coordinators and experts of the member banks of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Association were held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.
The participants exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation among member banks within the SCO Interbank Association (IBA). They discussed procedures for joint actions on issues related to the development of sustainable and inclusive financing. They agreed upon draft Strategy for the Further Development of the SCO IBA for the period 2027–2031.
These documents will be submitted for approval at the next meeting of the SCO IBA Council, scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 1, 2026.
Coordinators and Experts of SCO Interbank Association Member Banks Meet in Bishkek
The SCO Interbank Association was established in accordance with the Agreement on Interbank Cooperation (Association) within the SCO of October 26, 2005. It serves as a mechanism for financing and banking support for investment projects backed by the governments of the Organization’s member states. In October 2025, the chairmanship of the Association was transferred to the Kyrgyz side, represented by OJSC "Eldik Bank."
