On April 20, 2026, the China Institute of International Studies in Beijing hosted a presentation of the Global Security Situation Report 2025.
The event was attended by Chen Bo, President of the China Institute of International Studies; Wang Lixin, Director of the Security Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China; as well as representatives of academic circles and the diplomatic corps accredited in Beijing.

In her remarks Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Piao Yangfan highly appreciated the significance of the presented report, which helps to better understand the assessments, forecasts, initiatives and approaches of the Chinese side — especially its academic circles — in the field of global security.
The Deputy Secretary-General emphasized that the SCO being an integral part of the Global South and guided by the "Shanghai Spirit" makes a significant contribution to strengthening peace, security and regional stability, as well as to reforming the global governance system.
Participants in the event highlighted the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in improving institutional capacity-building in the field of security and in shaping a more representative, democratic, fair and multipolar world order.
