On April 16–17, 2026, a meeting of the Permanent Representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Member States was held at the SCO Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues aimed at further improving the Organisation's activities, enhancing the effectiveness of its mechanisms, and developing the SCO's legal framework.
The parties heard a briefing from the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the SCO Secretariat "On the current situation surrounding the military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran."
