On April 15, 2026, a working meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing between Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Ularbek Sharsheev, Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the SCO.
The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of cooperation among SCO member states in the field of security and countering the "three forces of evil" — terrorism, separatism and extremism. Particular attention was paid to strengthening coordination between the competent authorities of the SCO countries and improving mechanisms for information sharing and the exchange of best practices.

In his turn the Director of the SCO RATS Executive Committee informed about the current activities of RATS, including the conduct of joint counter-terrorism exercises, cooperation programs, and priority areas of work for the upcoming period.
