On March 30, 2026, a meeting of the Expert Working Group under the mechanism of meetings of Ministers of Defense of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Bishkek, chaired by the Kyrgyz side. Representatives of the relevant agencies of the SCO member states and its Secretariat took part in the discussion.
Participants exchanged views on issues of strengthening interaction in the military sphere, expanding practical cooperation, and improving coordination mechanisms in the interests of ensuring regional security.
They paid special attention to the topic of conducting joint events in 2026, including preparations for the meeting of Ministers of Defense of the SCO member states.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, which confirmed the commitment of the member states to further strengthen practical ties.
