On March 26, 2026, the 8th Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Alliance was held in Bishkek.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov, Minister of Health Damir Osmonov, Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev, Director of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy Talant Eraliev, Advisor to the SCO Secretariat Kazybek Kochkonov, cardiologists and medical experts from the Organization's member states.
In his welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony Edil Baisalov emphasized that the state policy of Kyrgyzstan is being implemented within the framework of the national program "Healthy Heart 2025–2030," approved by the country's President in 2025.
Damir Osmonov noted the significance of the conference as an effective platform for professional dialogue, experience exchange, and the development of joint solutions.
Participants of the Conference formulated practical recommendations aimed at strengthening international cooperation, introducing modern medical technologies, and improving the effectiveness of cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment.
In Kyrgyzstan, cardiovascular diseases account for more than half of all deaths; together with other noncommunicable diseases, this figure reaches 80%.
As part of the conference, which will run until March 28, the "Mirrakhimov Readings," Russian Medicine Days, and the 1st Congress of the Association of X-ray Endovascular Surgeons and Interventional Cardiologists are scheduled, with the participation of specialists from SCO countries.
