On March 26, 2026, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat in Beijing T.R. Midhun, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO met with Zhu Tong, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF).
Zhu Tong expressed gratitude for the traditional support provided by the SCO Secretariat for EAEF events, presented information on the outcomes of the 11th Eurasian Economic Forum, held in Xi’an, China, in 2025, and outlined plans for the preparation of the upcoming 12th Forum, scheduled for 2027. He reaffirmed the intention of the EAEF leadership to maintain close contacts with the SCO Secretariat with the aim of further deepening multifaceted cooperation among the states of the Eurasian region.
T.R. Midhun thanked the partners for their collaboration and informed them about events dedicated to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the SCO. He noted that the SCO Secretariat, within its mandate, will continue to provide support for the organization of the EAEF.
The Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF) is a platform for international economic interaction across Eurasia, a region that geographically includes SCO member states. The Forum is held regularly in Xi’an every two years, starting in 2005.
