On 9 February, a Chinese Lunar New Year reception was held in Beijing for the diplomatic corps accredited to China, including foreign military attachés and other honored guests. The event was hosted by Admiral Dong Jun, Minister of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China.
Major General Zhang Baoqun, Deputy Director of the International Military Cooperation Office of the Ministry of National Defense, briefed the guests on China’s achievements in the sphere of national defense and military cooperation with foreign partners. Major General specifically highlighted the 22nd Meeting of the Ministers of Defense of the SCO Member States, held under China’s chairmanship in Qingdao in June 2025, as a major event of the year.
The SCO Secretariat was represented by Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov.
