On January 30, 2026, a meeting was held at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat in Beijing between SCO Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun and the Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Russian Federation (Rosstandart), Anton Shalaev.
The parties exchanged views on establishing cooperation in the field of standardization at the level of heads of the national authorities of SCO member states. T.R. Midhun emphasized interest in this initiative positively assessing the work carried out in this area in 2025.
The parties discussed further steps and agreed to continue, with mutual coordination, aligning draft regulatory documents in the field of standardization, as well as a plan for joint actions of SCO member states for the near future.
