From January 27 to 30, 2026, the first meeting this year of the Council of National Coordinators (CNC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states took place at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.
High-level representatives of the member states deliberated on a wide range of issues regarding cooperation within the Organization. This included preparations for the upcoming meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Bishkek this year, as well as the progress in implementing the initiatives put forward by the leaders at the Tianjin Summit on September 1, 2025.
The participants also discussed implementing the SCO Council of Heads of State’s Decision on the proposals of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states on improving the Organization's activities, adopted on July 4, 2024, in Astana. Additionally, they discussed issues related to strengthening the role and increasing the influence of the SCO on the international stage.
The Council of National Coordinators approved the SCO Plan of Main Events and the Program of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Organization's member states for 2026.
