On January 27-28, 2026, a delegation from the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization led by SCO Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhunparticipated in the India Energy Week – 2026 in Goa, India.
The event opened with a video address by the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi. Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant and the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber also delivered welcoming remarks
T.R. Midhun took part in a panel session on energy cooperation among SCO countries, focusing on ensuring a balance between energy security and sustainable development. The Deputy Secretary-General noted that member states advocate for expanding inclusive and mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening energy security, ensuring the protection of relevant infrastructure, promoting investment collaboration and supporting a just energy transition for sustainable development.
SCO delegation takes part in India Energy Week – 2026
SCO DSG highlighted positive momentum in the interaction among SCO member states, including implementing the Strategy for the Development of Energy Cooperation until 2030 (adopted in 2024) and its Implementation Roadmap (2025).
The events of this year's India Energy Week have brought together over 6.5 thousand delegates from more than 120 countries worldwide and will continue until January 30, 2026.
