On January 18, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization visited the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao Zedong in Beijing to pay tribute to the founder of the People's Republic of China.
A wreath was laid at the statue of the Chairman. The members of the delegation visited the resting place of the Chairman, got acquainted with the exposition of the Hall of Revolutionary Achievements of Mao Zedong, watched the documentary "The Great Cause of the Millennia". SCO Deputy Secretary General Batyr Tursunov, as head of the delegation, left an entry in the guests’ book, expressing deep respect for Chairman Mao, the founder of the People's Republic of China.

Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located in the southern part of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The complex covers an area of 5.72 hectares with a total building area of 33,867 square meters. It is China's main memorial complex, a symbol of the Party and the State, and the resting place of the great leader Mao Zedong. Since the opening, the memorial has been visited daily by ten thousand people — Chinese citizens and foreign visitors.
