On January 15, 2026, a meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization between SCO Deputy Secretary-General Piao Yangfan and Li Mingquan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipality.
Li Mingquan provided an overview of Chongqing's achievements in socio-economic development, as well as the main areas and projects for the city's cooperation with SCO member states. He reaffirmed the commitment to further expand the municipality's participation in multilateral cooperation within the framework of the SCO, with the support of the SCO Secretariat.
Piao Yangfan highly appreciated Chongqing's efforts in establishing business, cultural and humanitarian ties with the countries of the Organization. The parties expressed readiness to continue joint work on projects of mutual interest.
