During the visit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretariat delegation to Minsk, Deputy Secretary-General Oleg Kopylov held consultations with the leadership and key experts of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research (BISR).
The parties held a substantive discussion primarily on the topic of intensifying the work of SCO mechanisms along the research-analytical and information-media tracks. This discussion was held in the context of implementing the tasks set by the leaders of the member states to improve the activities of the Organization's bodies and mechanisms.

Deputy Director of the Institute Vitaly Stakhovsky and Head of the SCO and BRICS Research Center Yuri Yarmolinsky, together with their colleagues, informed about the research potential of this leading expert institution of the Republic of Belarus. For his part, Oleg Kopylov emphasized BISR's significant contribution to the formation of an authoritative "second track" within the Organization. The need was underscored to scale up projects and implement practical proposals through channels such as the SCO Forum, the SCO Consortium of Economic Analytical Centers, and other relevant mechanisms. The BISR initiative to develop a Concept for SCO Expert Diplomacy deserves the highest commendation in this regard.
An agreement was reached to continue regular, close dialogue on the entire spectrum of discussed issues.
