On December 18-19, in Minsk, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, a delegation led by Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Oleg Kopyov participated in the 2nd session of the 7th All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
President Alexander Lukashenko delivered a comprehensive address. The Head of State outlined the priorities of Belarus's domestic and foreign policy for the next five years.
The President, in particular, emphasized that "the economic balance has fully shifted in favor of the countries of the Global East and South. And we are part of this system. The future belongs to associations such as BRICS and #SCO, where we are awaited and gladly received."
On Participation in the All-Belarusian People Assembly
On the sidelines of the event, the delegation held contacts with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov; the CIS Secretary General, Sergei Lebedev; the CSTO Secretary General, Imangali Tasmagambetov; the State Secretary of the Union State, Sergei Glazyev; and the heads of a number of diplomatic missions of SCO member states accredited in Minsk.
