On December 8–9, 2025 the first meeting of heads of the National Central Bureaus of the International Criminal Police Organization from the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Tehran.
Welcoming the delegates Deputy Commander of the Law Enforcement Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Major General Mohammad Sharafi emphasized Tehran's commitment to promoting cooperation within the SCO through the National Central Bureaus (NCBs) of Interpol, particularly in areas such as combating terrorism and organized crime.
The heads of the Interpol NCBs from the SCO member states presented reports on the development of cooperation within the Organization, which unites 196 countries, and reached an agreement to hold SCO‑format meetings on a regular basis.
The event was attended by a delegation from the SCO Secretariat.
