On December 5, 2025 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, a delegation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat headed by Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda participated in an expanded-format meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the member states of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC).
The event was organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, CARICC, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Alongside the SCO Secretariat high-level representatives from the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), and other associations took part in its work.
On participation in an event on anti-drug issues
The parties exchanged views on countering the drug threat in the region. Discussions focused on enhancing the coordination of international and regional structures in confronting the spread of narcotic drugs considering the potential of the SCO Anti-Drug Centre being established.
