On December 4, 2025, the final stage of the joint anti-terrorism exercises of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization "Sahand-Antiterror-2025" was held in Tabriz, the Islamic Republic of Iran. Representatives of the Organization's member states took part in the exercises, demonstrating their experience and skills in jointly countering terrorism and extremism.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Lieutenant General Mohammad Pakpour, addressed the exercise participants via a video message. The following officials delivered speeches during the summing up of the JATE: the Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Executive Committee, Ularbek Sharsheev; the Exercise Director, Major General Vali Madani; the Deputy Exercise Director, Brigadier General Jahangir Alinejad; and the First Deputy Chairman of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus, a member of the SCO RATS Council, Major General Sergei Terebov.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Piao Yangfan participated in observing the final stage and the summing up of the joint anti-terrorism exercises.
The latest models of weaponry, military, and special equipment were showcased during the exercises.
The concluded exercises are intended to serve as an effective platform for sharing experience and ensuring synergy in the efforts of SCO member states in the fight against terrorism.
