On December 2, 2025 the Tianshan Forum on Economic Cooperation in Central Asia, themed "Unlocking the Potential of Connectivity and Investment in Central Asia" took place in Urumqi, China.
The event was attended by representatives from relevant Chinese agencies and political, business, and academic circles from 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
On Participation in the International Tianshan Forum on Economic Cooperation in Central Asia
In his remarks at the session on Central Asia SCO Deputy Secretary-General T.R. Midhun spoke about the SCO's activities in the investment sphere. It was noted that the SCO possesses immense potential for cooperation in this area with reserves of natural resources, technological capabilities and rich human capital being valuable assets of the Organization.
On the sidelines of the event a working meeting was held between T.R. Midhun and Andrey Shirokov, Managing Director of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. During the conversation the parties discussed issues of possible cooperation between the two structures.
