On December 1, 2025 a meeting to celebrate Bahrain Women's Day was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the People's Republic of China with the support of the SCO Secretariat. Bahrain is an SCO Dialogue Partner.
In his address to the guests Bahrain's Ambassador to China Mohamed Ghassan Mohamed Adnan Shaikho highlighted his country's achievements in the field of women's empowerment.
A documentary showcasing successes in this field was screened.
In his welcoming remarks SCO Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda noted that hosting this event constitutes the Bahraini side's contribution to implementing the Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation with Dialogue Partners, which was adopted at the Organization's 2024 Astana Summit.
As part of the event a photo exhibition on the role of women in Bahrain's social development and an exposition featuring elements of folk crafts were presented. A reception showcasing traditional national dishes also took place.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, ambassadors of the "SCO community" states accredited in China, member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Permanent Representatives of SCO member states to the Secretariat as well as representatives of the All-China Women's Federation and the China SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.
