On November 27, 2025 a roundtable titled "Transformation and the Future of Global Governance" was held in Beijing under the auspices of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the People's Republic of China and the International Cooperation Center, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.
Representatives from the diplomatic corps, business, and academic communities held a substantive exchange of views. The discussion focused on the UN's role in contemporary international relations and the challenges of the Organization.

In his remarks Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, presented the consolidated approach of the member states of the SCO. They perceive the UN as a unique intergovernmental structure that has fostered essential cooperation in ensuring peace and security, socio-economic development, and human rights.
The DSG emphasised the unified position of the SCO member states, which asserts the necessity of adapting the UN to modern political and economic realities through carefully calibrated reforms aimed at increasing the representation of developing countries in the UN's governing bodies.
