On November 27, 2025 in Bishkek, Piao Yangfan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization who is leading the SCO Observer Mission for the parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic was received by Meder Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country.
The Deputy Minister thanked the SCO representatives for participating in the process of observing the elections assuring that the Kyrgyz side would make every effort to create favorable conditions for the Mission's work. He noted the growing authority of the SCO as a reputable multilateral association making a significant contribution to ensuring security and stability in the Eurasian region. The Deputy Minister also emphasized positive trends in strengthening cooperation among the Organization's member states in areas such as politics, security, economics and humanitarian exchanges.
The Deputy Secretary-General expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for inviting the SCO Mission to observe the preparation and conduct of the elections and for the comprehensive assistance in its work. Piao Yangfan noted the significance of this electoral cycle for the political life of Kyrgyzstan. She also highly appreciated the activities of the Kyrgyz presidency in the Organization, which commenced after the Tianjin Summit on August 31 - September 1 this year under the slogan "25 Years of the SCO: Together Towards Sustainable Peace, Development and Prosperity".
