On November 12, 2025, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization Dima Al-Yahya at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.
During the conversation, Nurlan Yermekbayev stressed that issues of developing cooperation in the field of digitalization and the digital economy occupy an important place on the SCO agenda. He informed the interlocutor about the implementation of relevant initiatives and programs within the framework of the Organization, about the results achieved and long-term plans.

Dima Al-Yahya noted the focus of the SCO on strengthening mutually beneficial ties with the SCO member states, noting that this meeting provided a valuable opportunity to explore ways of interaction between the SCO and the SCO in areas of mutual interest, including those related to digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development, and overcoming pressing international challenges.
There is a common understanding that the intensification of cooperation will contribute to the exchange of experience, strengthen business contacts and achieve the goals of the member states of both organizations in the field of the digital economy.
The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) is an intergovernmental organization established in 2020 with permanent headquarters in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), it’s an observer at the United Nations. The DCO specializes in developing international cooperation to promote the growth of an inclusive and sustainable digital economy. The functions of the DCO Secretariat include assisting Member States in addressing challenges related to the digital environment.
