On October 22, 2025, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Nurlan Yermekbayev delivered a video message to participants of the roundtable discussion “Outcomes of the Tianjin Summit: The SCO as a Platform for Joint Development and Global Governance.”
The event took place at the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan. It was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dushanbe.
In his address, the Secretary General emphasized that the Tianjin SCO Summit was notable for its effectiveness. The roundtable participants were presented with the key outcomes of the summit, including the Tianjin Declaration of the Council of Heads of State and the SCO Development Strategy until 2035.
Nurlan Yermekbayev highly praised Tajikistan’s constructive approach to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation and practical interaction within the SCO framework and commended the active role of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan.
The roundtable, attended by ambassadors of SCO member states, observer states, and dialogue partner countries accredited in Tajikistan, as well as by experts and political scientists, featured a substantive exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the Organization’s development.
