On the Meeting of the SCO Member States’ Special Working Group on Poverty Alleviation

On October 22, 2025, at the initiative of the Pakistani side, a regular meeting of the Special Working Group of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States on poverty alleviation was held. Experts from the relevant ministries and agencies of the SCO Member States took part in the event via videoconference.

The discussions were held in the format of a webinar on the topic “Building Climate-Resilient Social Protection Systems: Protecting Vulnerable Groups from Climate Shocks in the SCO Region.”

A substantive exchange of views focused on issues related to poverty reduction and climate change, including the practical implementation of social protection measures in the context of natural disasters and other crisis situations.
