On October 15, 2025, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Nurlan Yermekbayev, participated via videoconference in a seminar titled “After the Tianjin SCO Summit: Achievements and Prospects of Multipolar Regional Cooperation.” The event was organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies of Pakistan in collaboration with Preston University, Islamabad.
The seminar gathered diplomats, experts, parliamentarians, journalists, and students from Pakistan and other countries across the Eurasian region.
In his address, the Secretary-General highlighted the key outcomes of the SCO Heads of State Council meeting held on September 1. He emphasized the significance of the documents signed during the summit and drew attention to the initiatives proposed by the leaders.
He also noted the forward-looking theme of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Chairmanship for 2025–2026: “25th Anniversary of the SCO: Together Towards Sustainable Peace, Development, and Prosperity.” The Secretary-General expressed confidence in the Organization’s ability to contribute even more actively to shaping a multipolar world.
Participants exchanged views on the results of the Tianjin Summit, particularly underscoring their importance for further deepening cooperation within the SCO framework. There was a shared understanding of the Organization’s growing role in promoting regional stability and sustainable socio-economic development.
