A regular meeting of the Special Working Group (SWG) of the SCO Member States on Trade Facilitation was held via videoconference on 30 September 2025, under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan.
The parties exchanged views on the current state and dynamics of mutual trade and outlined further steps to optimise trade procedures.
A key focus of the discussions was the draft Agreement on Trade Facilitation of the SCO Member States, which was considered a vital tool for unlocking the region’s economic potential, enhancing the predictability of the business climate, and deepening mutual trust.
Particular attention was also paid to advancing digital systems and paperless trade within the SCO. In this context, the parties emphasised the importance of synchronising member states’ efforts to enable the circulation of digital documents, achieve mutual recognition of digital solutions, and develop end-to-end trade and transport corridors.
The parties agreed to continue their discussions at the next SWG meeting, scheduled for later this month.
