On September 24-26, 2025, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum of Traditional Medicine was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China. The organizers were the SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation (CCDDC) and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province.
Cui Li, Deputy Chairman of the CCDDC, and Ye Jianchun, Chairman of the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, greeted the participants.

In her speech at the opening ceremony, SCO Deputy Secretary General Piao Yangfan noted that the Organization attaches great importance to cooperation in the field of healthcare, including traditional medicine, which is invariably reflected in the final documents of meetings of the Council of Heads of State and sectoral dialogue mechanisms. The readiness of the Secretariat to provide full support to the deepening of cooperation on this track was confirmed.
This year, the Forum has gathered more than 200 Chinese and foreign delegates. A Conference on the traditional medicine industry was opened on its sidelines – a platform for the exchange of views between experts, scientists, doctors and entrepreneurs working in this field.

Following the results of the Forum of Traditional Medicine – 2025, a platform for the exchange of information between the SCO countries was launched.
The SCO Forum of Traditional Medicine was established on the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, put forward at a meeting of the Council of Heads of the Organization's member States in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in 2019. Over the years, the Forum has strengthened as an authoritative platform for the exchange of experience and best practices in the relevant field, discussing the prospects for the development of the industry. In 2024, the Forum concluded with the adoption of the Nanchang Consensus.
