On September 23, 2025, the Eurasian Economic Forum 2025 was held in Xi'an (Shaanxi Province, China) on the theme "Combining opportunities in Eurasia to form a new model of sustainable development".
The event was attended by representatives of the political and business circles of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, including Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Russia.
In his speech, Deputy Secretary General T.R. Midhoon, who headed the Secretariat delegation, noted the enormous development opportunities of the SCO, emphasizing that the available reserves of natural resources, technological potential and rich human capital represent significant assets for successfully solving the tasks facing the Organization.
Eurasian Economic Forum
T.R.Midhoon also highlighted the results of the Tianjin SCO Summit (held on September 1) in the context of the formation of a wide open economic space in Eurasia, formed on the basis of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF) is a platform for discussing international economic cooperation in Eurasia. The Forum has been held in Xi'an every two years since 2005.
The EAEF is being held with the support of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, the SCO Secretariat, the SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, and other structures.
