On September 22, 2025, the third round of consultations between the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Department of Political Affairs and Peace-building of the United Nations Secretariat took place in New York, USA.
The delegations of the parties were led by SCO Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda and UN Assistant Secretary General for Europe, Central Asia, North and South America Miroslav Jenca.
During the meeting, the state and prospects for the development of practical cooperation between the secretariats of the two organizations in areas within the competence of their executive bodies were considered.
The consultations were held in a constructive atmosphere.
On April 5, 2010, a Joint Declaration on cooperation between the SCO and UN secretariats was signed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
