On September 19, 2025, Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda met with Nancy Zhang, Country Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers Program in the People's Republic of China, at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.
During the conversation, the UNV representative expressed appreciation for the inclusion in the Tianjin Declaration of the SCO Council of Heads of State (September 1, 2025) of a provision welcoming the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution of December 17, 2024 proclaiming 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development.
There was also an exchange of views on the possibilities of attracting the potential of UNV to the SCO activities.
