Statement of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Connection with the Airstrikes by Israel on the Territory of the State of Qatar

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) expresses deep concern in connection with the airstrikes by Israel on the residential area of the capital of Qatar, Doha, on September 9, 2025, and condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.

These actions are unacceptable, constitute a gross violation of the UN Charter, as well as universally recognized norms and principles of international law.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization consistently opposes the use of force and the threat of its use in international relations, and also supports the de-escalation of the situation in the Middle East through political and diplomatic means.

The member states of the SCO, strictly adhering to the goals and principles of the UN Charter and the SCO Charter, consider any unlawful actions unacceptable and reaffirm their unwavering commitment to strengthening international peace and security.
