On September 11–12, 2025, in Dushanbe, under the chairmanship of the Tajikistan, consultations of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on the Afghanistan issue were held.
The participants discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the SCO region, exchanged information on the interaction of member states with Afghanistan in ensuring security, stability, and sustainable development in that country, and also considered issues related to the functioning of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group.
The delegation of the SCO Secretariat at the meeting was headed by Deputy Secretary-General Ahmad Saidmurodzoda.
