On September 9, 2025, Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the People's Republic of China Pablo Arriaran at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.
At the request of the head of the diplomatic mission, the Secretary General spoke about the history of the SCO's creation, goals and objectives, as well as the process of improving the Organization. The interlocutor was informed about the main results of the meetings of the Council of Heads of SCO member States and the SCO Plus meeting held in Tianjin (China) on August 31 – September 1, 2025.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between the Organization and the Republic of Chile in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere.
